Quiapo sets 2026 Traslación schedule, procession route

MANILA, Philippines — The traditional procession of the Black Nazarene will once again make a full return to the streets of Manila in January 2026.
Quiapo Church on Monday, November 17, confirmed the full route for the 2026 Traslación and announcing restrictions around the basilica in the days leading up to the feast.
Quiapo Church spokesperson Fr. Robert Arellano said the feast of the Black Nazarene will run from Dec. 31, 2025 to Jan. 9, 2026, culminating in the grand procession on January 9 following the misa mayor. The Mass will be presided over by Bishop Rufino Sescon, former rector of Quiapo Church and now bishop of Balanga.
The procession will start at the Quirino Grandstand, where millions of devotees traditionally gather for the annual event.
City authorities have also imposed restrictions on commercial activity near the basilica. Vendors will be barred from the vicinity of Quiapo Church from January 7 to 9, to ease crowd movement and security preparations.
