MANILA, Philippines — Following the reported reshuffling of Cabinet officials, Jeffrey Ian Dy has been sacked from his post as undersecretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

Last month, DICT Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda requested for the courtesy resignation of the agency’s executives as part of the transition when he replaced Ivan John Uy.

In a March 31 letter, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin instructed Aguda to ensure smooth transition and “proper turnover of all matters, documents and information relative to Dy’s office.”

“I am no longer undersecretary of the DICT,” Dy said in a Facebook post on Friday.  “I know in my conscience that I served this government and the Filipino people well.”

President Marcos is “evaluating” the performance of his Cabinet officials, Malacañang has said.

Dy served as DICT undersecretary for infrastructure management, cybersecurity and upskilling.

He thanked the President for giving him the opportunity to serve the public.
