Fake dentist nabbed in Batangas

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A woman was arrested for practicing dentistry without a license in Lian, Batangas on Thursday.

The police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said the suspect, identified only as Perla, was collared at her house in Barangay Matabungkay at past noon.

The suspect reportedly offers dental services and products at a lower price on social media.

The arresting team seized from the suspect dental paraphernalia such as tweezers, periodontal probe, glass lonomer cement powder and liquid, and orthodontic brackets.

The operation was conducted by members of the CIDG-Batangas, local police and representatives from the Philippine Dental Association.

Lt. Col. Jake Barila of the CIDG-Batangas warned people against engaging in similar illegal activities.
