CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan, Philippines —  The reward money for the arrest of the killers of two policemen in Bulacan has increased to P2.2 million, according to the provincial government.

Gov. Daniel Fernando announced an additional P2 million to the reward money during a meeting of the provincial peace and order council on Tuesday.

Fernando said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution recognizing the heroism of S/Sgts. Dennis Cudiamat and Gian George dela Cruz of the Bocaue police.

Earlier, Col. Satur Ediong, Bulacan police director, said that Bocaue Mayor Jonjon Villanueva offered P100,000 in exchange for information that could lead to the arrest of the killers.

The Central Luzon police pledged an additional P100,000.

Cudiamat and Dela Cruz were conducting a police operation against illegal firearms in Barangay Tambubong, Bocaue on Saturday when they were killed.

One of the suspects, identified only as alias Dado, was arrested while his brother, alias Athan, and a companion fled.

A manhunt has been launched for the suspects.
