P1.9 million shabu seized in Iloilo
MANILA, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated street value of P1.9 million was seized in a sting that also resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects in Oton, Iloilo on Friday.
The suspects, identified only as Mel and Ken, were arrested after they allegedly sold shabu worth P13,000 to a police poseur buyer in Barangay Polo Maestra Vita.
Western Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the suspects have been under surveillance for about a month following information that they were supplying illegal drugs in various areas in Iloilo.
Tuaño said the suspects have previous records of arrests over a similar offense, but they continued their illegal activities after they were released from jail.
Up to 280 grams of shabu and marked money were allegedly seized from the suspects, probers said.
In Iloilo City, another drug suspect was arrested for alleged possession of shabu with an estimated street value of P408,000 on Thursday night.
The suspect, identified only as Mario was collared after he sold an undetermined amount of shabu to a police undercover agent in Barangay Calumpang.
