ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A government employee was killed in an attack by motorcycle-riding assailants in Lamitan, Basilan on Thursday night.
Richard Piedad, 49, administrative employee at the Lamitan city hall, was in a shop in Barangay Colonia when he was killed at around 10 p.m., according to Lt. Col. Elmer Solon, Lamitan police chief.
Piedad was declared dead on arrival in a nearby hospital.
Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
