MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go on Monday told graduates of the Philippine Christian University (PCU) in Manila to be inspiring future leaders and serve the country.
“Serving with character means serving our people with compassion, love and sincerity. In one word: malasakit,” Go said.
“Just do what is right. That is what I learned from former president Rodrigo Duterte,” he added.
Around 1,700 graduates attended the PCU graduate school program’s commencement rites in Pasay City.
In his speech, Go mentioned his legislative efforts, the Senate bills he filed and the government policies he supported.
Jazer Paul Galvez, who graduated with a Master’s Degree in Management, major in Public Administration, received a token of appreciation from Go.
Galvez served as a staff member of the Department of Social Welfare and Development at the Malasakit center in the Senate from 2019 until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the ceremony coincided with National Heroes Day, Go challenged the graduates to redefine heroism through daily acts of kindness.
The senator’s Malasakit team distributed gift packs and tokens to graduates and faculty members.
