2 die in Iloilo fire

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Two people died in a fire that destroyed a boarding house in La Paz district, Iloilo City on Sunday afternoon.

The bodies of Lyn Rose Sobretodo, 26, and Renz David Aguilar, 21, were found in their respective rooms an hour after the fire was put out.

Authorities expressed belief that the victims were asleep when the fire broke out at 4:15 p.m. in a populated area in Barangay San Nicolas.

The blaze destroyed six boarding houses and a residential structure.

Investigation is ongoing.
