Tourist rest area to rise along Kennon Road

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) and the Baguio city government will build a tourist rest area along Kennon Road.

The city government’s planning and development office (CPDO) said the tourist rest area would rise near the Lion’s Head statue.

CPDO chief Donna Tabangin said TIEZA would allocate P7 million for the project while the city government would spend P5 million.

Tabangin said the city government would enter into a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to allow the use of the area for the proposed tourist center.

The tourist rest area will feature a pasalubong and souvenir shops, an information center, a view deck and toilets.
