MANILA, Philippines — Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) brought 19 doctors and nurses to Tagbilaran province last week to conduct a nine-day eye surgical mission organized by the Philippine Gift of Life.
The medical mission is being held at the Borja Hospital.
Fancy Baluyot, chief executive officer of the Philippine Gift of Life, said 1,065 indigent people were listed as beneficiaries.
Of the number, 771 patients will undergo surgery for cataract, 252 for pterygium and 32 cyst cases.
Dr. Maryann Ruiz of the Philippine Gift of Life said the patients underwent screening and ocular biometrics.
She thanked CEB for transporting the doctors and nurses from Manila to Tagbilaran.
