MANILA, Philippines — Three Chinese and a Filipina were arrested during a raid on a gambling den in Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque on Sunday.

In a statement yesterday, Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said two of those arrested were Li Yue Cai, 46, the alleged owner of the gambling den in Multinational Village, and his employee, Charise Escario, 20.

Zhiong Wang, 50, and Feng Menzhen, 46, were caught playing with the slot machines in the den, located on the second floor of a convenience store.

Macaraeg said the SPD received a letter from the village’s homeowners requesting police assistance to deal with the potential illegal activities of some Chinese tenants.

Police confiscated three slot machines, money exchange machines, 74 slot machine game cards and around 600 silver tokens.

Macaraeg said the suspects face charges of illegal gambling.

The SPD has coordinated with the Chinese embassy regarding the status of the three arrested foreigners.
