2 South Korean fugitives nabbed
MANILA, Philippines — Two South Korean nationals wanted in their country for fraud were arrested by government agents at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 4 upon their return from Puerto Princesa on Sunday night.
A warrant of deportation dated Aug. 2, 2017 and the Red notices issued by the Interpol were served on Ki Sunglae Jo and Sang Kyung Han, both 35 years old.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the South Korean fugitives are in BI custody pending their deportation.
Morente said members of the BI Fugitive Search Unit coordinated the arrest of the foreigners with the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group.
He said warrants for the arrest of the two Koreans were issued by the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office for fraud and Hong Sung District Office for violation of the Telecommunications Business Act.
