Go provides aid to displaced Cavite workers
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go has provided assistance to displaced workers in Bacoor, Cavite.
During a relief distribution activity at the Strike Gymnasium on Wednesday, Go stressed the importance of working together to support the needy, particularly people who lost their jobs and means of livelihood.
Go committed to continue helping the poor, saying he would willingly take every opportunity to help them.
“Don’t thank me. I should be the one thanking you for giving me the opportunity to serve. I will continue working for the Filipinos,” Go told the people and the beneficiaries.
During the event, Go emphasized his commitment to advocate workers’ rights, noting the significance of his programs for displaced workers.
He said he filed Senate Bill 420 to establish the rural employment assistance program, which seeks to create temporary jobs for low-income families in rural areas.
Go said SB 2534, which he co-authored, seeks to increase by P100 the daily minimum wage to help families cope with the rising cost of living.
He and his Malasakit team distributed food packs, snacks, vitamins, facemasks, shirts, fans, basketballs and volleyballs to 1,128 beneficiaries.
Go thanked Sen. Bong Revilla, Cong. Lani Mercado-Revilla, Mayor Strike Revilla and Vice Mayor Rowena Mendiola during the activity.
