No leads yet on missing real estate agents

Arnel Ozaeta - The Philippine Star

BATANGAS, Philippines — Authorities remain clueless on the whereabouts of two real estate agents who were reported missing in December last year.

Rodelio Larena Jr., 29, and John Paul Ferolino, 30, were in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on their way to meet a supposed client in Mabini town on Dec. 11.

Probers said the men did not reach their destination.

After two days, the victims’ vehicle was found abandoned along the Diversion Road in Taal.

Police recovered from the vehicle the victims’ laptop computer, wallets and an ATM card.

The vehicle’s dashboard camera and GPS were missing.

Footage taken by a closed-circuit television camera showed the SUV pulling over along the highway in Barangay Bihis shortly before midnight of Dec. 11.

In a text message received by The STAR, Batangas police director Col. Gliserio Cansilao said investigation is ongoing and that they are coordinating with the Carmona police.

Cansilao promised to relay to journalists any update they could gather regarding the case.

The victims’ families sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation, noting the possible involvement of two rogue policemen in the disappearance of their relatives.

Cansilao said they have no details yet on the allegations of the families, although he confirmed that this information is included in their investigation.
