CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A barangay chairman was gunned down in Barangay Inspector in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija on Wednesday night.
Reports reaching the office of Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, Central Luzon police director, identified the victim as Emiliano Muncal, 52.
Police said the victim was about to park his motorcycle in front of his house when unidentified men on another motorbike appeared from behind and shot him several times.
Muncal died while being treated in a hospital.
In Bulacan, businessman Ronald Regala was shot dead along the North Luzon Expressway service road in Barangay Pandayan in Meycauayan City.
His companions, businesswomen Clarice Ann Regala, 29, was wounded while Luz Regala, 58, was unhurt.
Col. Manuel Lukban, Bulacan police director, said the victims were in a Toyota Fortuner when motorcycle-riding men blocked their way and opened fire.
