MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.2 earthquake shook Calatagan, Batangas yesterday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the quake, which occurred at around 2:14 a.m., was located 19 kilometers northwest of Calatagan.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 131 kilometers.
It was felt at Intensity 2 in Calapan City and Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro, Makati and Olongapo.
Phivolcs said the temblor was an aftershock of a magnitude 6.6 earthquake that shook Calatagan on July 24.
