MANILA, Philippines — Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro is gunning for a third consecutive term to lead the city.
News5 reported that Teodoro filed his Certificate of Candidacy, under the United Nationalist Alliance, on Friday at the local Commission on Elections office.

He is expected to face off with Rep. Bayani Fernando (Marikina 1st District), but Teodoro reportedly said he is hoping the latter would withdraw from the mayoral race.
In 2007, Teodoro served as representative of first district of Marikina. He served as lawmaker until 2016.
In 2016, he won as Marikina city mayor. He was again elected for his second term as local government chief in 2019. — with reports from News7/JC Cosico
