MANILA, Philippines — The Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH)’s ward for confirmed COVID-19 patients is now at critical risk status.
In a statement yesterday, PCGH officer-in-charge Dr. John Victor de Gracia said 90 percent of the hospital’s COVID ward is occupied.
There are no more COVID-19 intensive care unit beds available and only three regular COVID beds are free, he said.
COVID transition wards are at 40 percent occupancy and 12 isolation beds are still available.
De Gracia said the emergency room of the hospital is temporarily closed for both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients.
“There are currently four positive patients in our isolation and triage areas and three are being intubated. We will open again once we have decongested and disinfected the area. Only Pasay residents will be accepted for both COVID and non-COVID admissions,” he said, as he admitted being “overwhelmed in the emergency room.”
