TUGUEGARAO CITY , Philippines — The police station in Abulug, Cagayan was placed on lockdown on Wednesday following the arrest of a suspect who later tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019.
Abulug police chief Maj. Norly Gamal and three of his men, who interacted with the suspect, are quarantined in a municipal isolation facility.
Police said the suspect who was not identified, was arrested in Quezon City on Aug. 4 based on a warrant for two counts of violation of Violence Against Women and their Children Act filed by his wife.
The quarantined police officers and a village councilman brought the suspect to Abulug on Aug. 5.
