QUEZON CITY, Philippines — At least 90 families were left homeless when a fire struck the Commonwealth Market in Quezon City on Sunday.
Arson probers said the fire started from a two-story house made of light materials at around 5:46 p.m.
The flames quickly spread and razed about 30 houses in the market along Kaunlaran street in Barangay Commonwealth.
City fire marshal Col. Jaime Ramirez said the fire reached the third alarm before it was put out at past 7 p.m.
Ramirez said they were investigating if an illegal electrical connection caused the fire.
No one was reported injured in the incident. Damage to property was estimated at P90,000.
