6 killed in shootings

MANILA, Philippines — Six persons, including three drug suspects, were gunned down in Batangas, Quezon and Camarines Norte on Wednesday.

Ricky de Vera reportedly shot it out with police officers serving a search warrant at his residence in Barangay Niogan, Mabini, Batangas at around 10:30 p.m.

Ruel Velasquez drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Batangas City at around 10:45 p.m., police said.

A man who has yet to be identified reportedly shot police officers conducting Oplan Galugad in Barangay Banay, Lipa also in Batangas  at about 10 p.m.

Garry Gonzales and Clark Paz, 34, were shot by unidentified men in Barangay Maugat, Tanauan, Batangas and Lalig, Tiaong, Quezon, respectively.

In Camarines Norte, Saphiro Barcenas Jr., 54, head of a security agency was sleeping when a security guard identified as Darius Octa reportedly entered his barracks and opened fire. – Emmanuel Tupas, Michelle Zoleta
