ROSALES, Pangasinan, Philippines - Three persons died and 12 others were injured in an accident on the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Barangay Palakipak in this town on Thursday.
Leo Salido, 30; Jane Lacerna, 20, and Rona Labor were pronounced dead on arrival at the Dr. Chan Hospital.
Senior Police Officer 3 Remelio Mendoza identified the injured as Minda Labor, Dexter Cerbas, Jun Jun Belyera, Anna Labaro, Marian Amorin, Cita Edolan, Arniel Tale, Elyn Mae Melicado, Nolie Cerbas, Quin Roid Matrata and Nerman Manon, all workers of a footwear company, and driver Vitaliano Cruz.
Initial investigation showed the victims’ Nissan Urvan van (WQU- 236) turned over and rammed the railings on TPLEX when its rear left tire burst.
Mendoza said the victims came from Baguio City and were on their way back to Manila.
