7 Batangas police chiefs reshuffled
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Seven chiefs of police in Batangas were relieved from their posts yesterday for performing poorly or overstaying.
The relief of the seven police officials was part of the ongoing reshuffle being implemented by the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) regional police office, said Inspector Hazel Luma-Ang, spokesperson for the Batangas provincial police.
Luma-Ang said the order to relieve the chiefs of police of Sto. Tomas, Nasugbu, Calatagan, Cuenca, San Juan, San Nicolas and Padre Garcia towns came out at around 2 p.m.
“Some of them were overstaying for almost two years while the others were relieved for failing to comply with the Philippine National Police policies on fighting crimes,” she said.
She said the relief of the chief of the Cuenca police was due to a recent pawnshop robbery.
Senior Superintendent Jireh Omega Fidel, Batangas police director, said three other Batangas police chiefs are to be reshuffled.
Fidel refused to name the three police officials until after the deliberation, but sources said the three officials were the chiefs of the Lipa, Lemery and Batangas City police.
Earlier, 10 police chiefs in Laguna were reshuffled. Among them was Senior Inspector Mederic Mati-ong of Alaminos, who was replaced by Senior Inspector Vicente Jarque.
Laguna police director Senior Superintendent Florendo Saligao told The STAR that Superintendent Ericson Dilag of San Pablo City, Senior Inspector Noel Valdez of Liliw and Senior Inspector Ireneo Villeza of Rizal were replaced for overstaying and poor performance.
