MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has awarded 88 hectares of agricultural lands to 86 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Barangay Azagra, Tanjay City in Negros Oriental.
Municipal agrarian reform program officer Felipe Gaviola said the land was formerly owned by the Pamplona Plantation Company Inc., represented by former senator John Osmeña.
Gaviola said the distribution of certificates of land ownership to the beneficiaries was through the collaboration of DAR and the offices of the assessor and treasurer of Tanjay City.
