MANILA, Philippines - A 25-year-old laborer is facing charges for allegedly raping his 76-year-old grandmother.
The suspect, married and a resident of Altavas, Aklan, was arrested on Nov. 2, the day after the alleged rape occurred.
His grandmother told police she was alone in their house when the suspect, who was drunk, raped her.
Inspector Evangeline Ufano, Altavas police chief, said the suspect is a nephew of the victim’s late husband.
The suspect is being held at the Aklan Rehabilitation Center in Kalibo.
