CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A town councilor was killed while his wife survived in an attack by motorcycle-riding men in Tuy, Batangas yesterday morning.
Armando Hernandez suffered two gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital, where he died while being treated, said Senior Inspector Gaylor Pagala, town police chief.
Police placed Hernandez’s wife under protective custody.
Investigators recovered five bullet shells for a 9mm pistol from the crime scene.
Initial investigation showed the Hernandezes were on their way home from church when two men on a motorcycle waylaid them at around 9 a. m.
Police said the assailants could have been tailing the couple’s car and shot at them upon reaching a bridge in Barangay Bolbok.
