MANILA, Philippines - Anti narcotics agents destroyed seven marijuana cultivation sites in Cebu province, uprooting some P120,000 worth of marijuana plants, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Tuesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the eradication operation was held Jan.30 around 4 a.m., in seven adjacent lots in Barangay Basiao, Badian, Cebu and was done in coordination with the Philippine Air Force.
A total of 1,700 fully-grown marijuana plants worth P120,000 were uprooted and destroyed during the operation. However, no cultivator was identified nor arrested, Cacdac said.
Samples of the marijuana plants were brought to the PDEA Regional Office 7 Laboratory for quantitative and qualitative analysis, the PDEA said.
