MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested five members of a kidnap-for-ransom syndicate and rescued a six-year-old victim at the group's lair in Cavite province, an official said Monday.
Deputy Director General Felipe Rojas Jr., Philippine National Police-Deputy Chief for Administration, said the victim was rescued last week after 14 days in captivity in Barangay Dalivan, Carmona, Cavite last January 23.
Rojas said Noel Obing Raymundo and Noel Talledo were nabbed during the raid and the three other suspects identified as Fernan Maala, Elias de Leon, and Efren Marcina, were arrested in a series of follow up operations.
He said the group was responsible for another kidnapping of a minor in Tanay, Rizal November last year.
