LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A farmer immediately died, another died in the hospital while six others were seriously hurt when the truck they were riding in reportedly fell down on a rice field in remote Duldulao barangay in Malibcong town, Abra Monday afternoon.
Cordillera police spokesperson Supt. Davvy Limmong said Ruben Gunawa, 47, immediately died from the impact when the Isuzu dump truck owned by the Malibcong local government unit with plate number WTD 957 the victim together with 36 others villagemates were riding in fell on a ricefield four meters below the provincial road in barangay Duldulao at around 4:45 p.m.
Driver Robert Sagban reportedly lost control of the vehicle before it fell.
Six passengers Fernando Boy-agan, Unisemo Gunawa, Norma Salabao, Digna Banatao, Loida Doque and Danilo Gamming were rushed to Abra Provincial Hospital in Bangued, the province’s capital town.
Danilo Gamming however died before reaching the hospital.
