P30-M shabu seized from 3 Sinos in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines - Three Chinese were arrested yesterday as they yielded six kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P30 million during a raid in Bacoor City, Cavite.

The suspects, Wang Fangyuan, 43; Cai Zhifu, 40; and Guo Kangfu, 37, did not resist arrest when cornered in a subdivision in Bacoor City at around 2 a.m. yesterday.

Joint elements of the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) and the Cavite police also seized a silver Toyota Innova (with license plate ZBU 800), a silver Nissan Sentra (XLM 971), three cell phones, P3,000 in cash, a digital weighing scale, a filter, three passports, and several documents from the three Chinese.

Senior Superintendent Napoleon Taas, AIDSOTF chief, said the Bacoor raid came on the heels of a buy-bust operation in Pasay City last April 29 that led to the arrest of Chinese nationals Li Meimei, 41, and Romeo David Ong, 49, and Esmeraldo Trinidad, 54.

During the task force’s one-month surveillance in Metro Manila and Cavite, Taas said Li, Ong and Trinidad would go to Bacoor after every test-buy. “So we coordinated with the Cavite police and applied for a search warrant to raid the area,” he said.
