Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Philippines – Vice President Jejomar Binay recently led the inauguration of the housing project of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Co. Ltd. Philippines Inc. (HHIC-Phil. Inc.) for its shipyard workers.
Barely 10 months after breaking ground in July 2012, Binay inaugurated the initial 300 fully built housing units on a 30-hectare land in Barangay Nagbunga, Castillejos, Zambales, which is now dubbed as the “Hanjin Village.â€
The housing project, which is targeted to initially benefit at least 2,000 Hanjin employees, is segmented into two phases, the first of which stands on a 12-hectare lot with 1,000 housing units, of which 300 housing units are now ready for occupancy.
