KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – An 11-year-old girl, who was reported missing last Jan. 5, was found dead with indications that she was raped before she was beaten to death in a grassy, secluded part of a village in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato, authorities said.
Reports said the girl’s body was found by farmers on their way to their rice fields on Monday.
Police said the girl bore bruises, indicating that she was beaten to death after being molested. A piece of wood with bloodstains was found near her body.
The Pigcawayan police confirmed reports that probers now have a lead in the rape-slay.
