US envoy, execs to join PMA competition

Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City --  US Ambassador to the Philippine Harry K. Thomas will compete in a physical challenge in Baguio on Tuesday.

Capt. Lynette Flores, Philippine Military Academy spokesperson, said Thomas, who has also an official residence in this highland resort city, will be with other US embassy officials when engaging PMA Superintendent Lt. Gen. Irineo Espino and other officials of the premier military training institution in the country in push-up and sit-up competitions.

Thomas is a avid baseball fan and player.

Assistant PMA Superintendent Brig. Gen. Emeraldo Magnaye, Commandant of Cadets Brig. Gen. Carlos Quita, PMA executives and PMA cadets will also be joining the challenge, the first of its kind in the Academy since 1905.

Such “engagement” said Flores highlights “the friendship between the Philippines and the United States and the continuing cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and their counterparts in the U.S. Armed Services.”
