Barge sinks off Bataan

MANILA, Philippines - A barge carrying soybeans sank in the waters off Mariveles, Bataan after it collided with a cargo vessel Sunday night, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported yesterday.

PCG spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Armand Balilo said they received information that Jupiter was being towed by Stargate, a tugboat, when it collided with M/V Prosper.

A report of PCG-Bataan Station head Lt. Cmdr. Ernesto Nuñez said two of Jupiter’s crewmen were saved by Stargate’s screw members.
