MANILA, Philippines - A landslide caused by heavy rains buried two houses in Taytay town in Rizal yesterday.
Nobody was hurt in the incident but it caused heavy damage to houses owned by Merlita Mateo, 59, and William Uy.
The municipal disaster coordinating council decided to evacuate other residents of Pinesville Subdivision in Barangay Dolores, as heavy rains continued to hit several parts of the country, including Metro Manila and Rizal province.
Mateo and her family decided to join residents who have been evacuated, but Uy decided to remain, saying he had no money to build a new house.
