ORMOC CITY, Philippines – Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez recently opened a newly concreted national road leading to Lake Danao, a premier tourism destination here.
The concreted road is also expected to benefit at least six surrounding barangays.
In a press conference held by the 4th Leyte Engineering District (LED) of the Department of Public Works and Highways, it was announced that the district has redeemed itself by climbing to the top spot from an initial standing of number 12 when Gomez assumed her post after the 2010 elections.
The congresswoman takes pride in being able to bring in a lot of projects to her district, which she said, the 4th LED is finishing “at the right time, the right cost and the right quality.”
“You’re looking at a very hardworking congresswoman and I tell the entire team I work with that it is a priority that as we implement the projects correctly we must also finish all projects ahead of time,” she said. “I am also very grateful for the support of the Secretaries in the National Agencies and the Liberal Party.”
The congresswoman posted a net satisfaction rating of 92 percent in a survey recently conducted by the Development Consulting Group Inc. based in Cebu City, among 1,000 respondents.
