LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Two female realty brokers were gunned down in front of a hotel here Wednesday night, police said.
Superintendent Oscar Regala, city police chief, identified the victims as Susana Maria Nayve, 46, and Amelia Lita, 41.
Regala said the lone gunman first fired at Nayve with a caliber .45 pistol, killing her on the spot, prompting Lita to run and hide inside the gates of the Alicia Hotel in Barangay Cruzada, but the man chased her and shot her, too.
Regala ruled out robbery as motive as scene of the crime operatives found the victims’ belongings intact, including a caliber .45 pistol, P200,000 in cash, and pieces of jewelry.
As possible motives, Regala said probers were eyeing business rivalry or love triangle since Lita was publicly known as a lesbian.
“We have yet to dig deeper into the incident,” he said.
Quoting witnesses, Regala said the gunman concealed his face with a hat and casually walked away from the crime scene.
