Missing Cavite girl found dead

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A 19-year-old girl was seized by a man last Monday night and turned up dead the following day naked and her head cut off in a grassy lot in Magallanes, Cavite, authorities said.

Senior Superintendent Danilo Maligalig, Cavite police director, said probers suspect that the victim, Mary Jane de la Vega, was raped before she was killed, although they were still waiting for the laboratory findings to confirm this.

Maligalig said De la Vega, together with two female friends, was on her way home when a bolo-wielding man snatched her. The victim’s friends managed to escape and reported the incident to her family.
