MANILA, Philippines - A city and four towns in Nueva Ecija, which were badly hit by typhoon “Pepeng” in 2009, were given about P204 million worth of disaster risk reduction projects.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo and Nueva Ecija Gov. Aurelio Umali have signed a memorandum of agreement on “strengthening the disaster risk reduction capacity” of San Jose City and the towns of Carranglan, Pantabangan, Rizal, and Llanera, identified as the most disaster-prone areas in the province.
Robredo said the project was part of a grant from the Spanish Cooperation Agency for Development.
