MANILA, Philippines - A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 magnitude shook some parts of Luzon yesterday but did not cause damage or injuries, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake occurred at 6:25 a.m. and the epicenter was traced some 35 kilometers southwest of San Pascual, Burias Island.
Phivolcs said the tremor was felt at Intensity 3 in Sorsogon City; Legazpi City; Tabaco; and Barangay Sta. Misericordia in Sto Domingo, Albay; and San Pascual, Burias Island.
It was also felt at Intensity 2 in Lignon Hill, Legazpi City and San Jacinto, Ticao Island; and Intensity 1 in Masbate City.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 19 kilometers.
