BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The bodies of three more passengers of a motorized banca that capsized earlier this week off Aparri town in Cagayan were recovered yesterday, authorities said.
The bodies of Daniel Peralta, Amboy Osorio and Agosto Calipini were found on the shore of Barangay Paddaya, Aparri town, three days after huge waves overturned their boat, the M/V 8 Brothers.
This brought to five the number of confirmed deaths in the sea mishap, with one still missing.
The vessel reportedly first encountered engine trouble before it capsized while on its way to Calayan’s Camiguin Island where most of the passengers reside.
The boat had 14 passengers, including three crewmen, when it met the tragedy.
