CAMP GEN. NAKAR, Lucena City , Philippines – A delivery van loaded with eight units of Precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines, ballot boxes and batteries fell into a three meter deep ravine while on its way to a public school in Barangay Bulagsong, Catanauan Quezon, Friday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent Erickson Velasquez said that the Catanauan municipal police station was informed that one AUV vehicle (EAD-545) loaded with eight units of PCOS machines, ballot boxes and batteries was stranded because of vehicular accident.
Investigators said that around 12:56 p.m., the vehicle was on its way to deliver the said election paraphernalia at the Barangay Hall of Bulagsong but local officials refused to accept the PCOS machines and insisted that it must be brought at Bulagsong Elementary School.
The delivery team proceeded to the said school but while passing through the rough road, the driver lost control of the vehicle and moved backward and fell into a ravine three meters deep.
