Lawmaker's kin, SK official die in road collision

LEGAZPI CITY – A nephew of Rep. Edcel Lagman (First District Albay) who was also a former Sangguniang Kabataan federation president and an SK official died instantaneously when their motorcycles collided head-on along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay 15 here at around 10:45 p.m. on Friday as heavy downpour triggered by the tailend of the cold front weather disturbance rendered highways almost in zero visibility.

Chief Inspector Rolly Esguerra, Legazpi police director, identified the victims as Gerold Lagman, 20, a former president of the Sto. Domingo, Albay SK federation; and Dennis Asiado, 18, an SK official of Barangay 24 this city, both back-riders of the motorcycles that figured in the head-on smashed up. Drivers Pol Balderama and Butch Montallana were also wounded, with the latter, seriously, as he remained in very critical condition until press time at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hos­pital here. – Cet Dematera
