Mimaropa police HQ moving to Calapan

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Mimaropa police command is transferring to Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro within the next two months, a spokesman said.

The regional police command, which has 175 personnel, has jurisdiction over the Mindoro provinces, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan, comprising Region 4-B.

Senior Superintendent Nilo Anzo, spokesman of the Mimaropa police, said Chief Superintendent Luisito Palmera, regional police director, and the regional directors of various agencies discussed the creation of satellite offices in Calapan City within six months during a meeting in Quezon City recently.

Anzo said President Arroyo issued Executive Order 682 designating Calapan City as the center of Region 4-B.

He said the regional police headquarters will be located at Camp Efigenio Navarro in Barangay Suqui, Calapan City.

“The area can accommodate our personnel. We will set up barracks as their temporarily shelter, and for those who want to bring their family, it’s up to them,” Anzo said. – Ed Amoroso
