MASINLOC, Zambales – Oil believed to have been spilled by a ship visiting this town’s port has contaminated the waters of Masinloc Bay and fish and seaweed farms.

Armando Morales, officer-in-charge of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources’ station here, said the oil spill has affected about three to five kilometers of the Masinloc shoreline.

He said the actual effects of the oil spill on the cultured seaweeds would be felt within five to 15 days. – Bebot Sison Jr.
