Recovered from Col-ing were about P400,000 worth of jewelry and another P500,000 from the other suspects.
The suspects were presented by Senior Supt. Alejandro Lapinid, regional director of the MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) to newsmen here yesterday.
Results of the investigation showed that at about 3:00 a.m. of June 5, unidentified persons staged a robbery at a pawnshop owned by a certain Bobby Castro at Narrazid Road, Brookespoint, Palawan and carted away P43,000.00 in cash and assorted jewelries amounting to P1.5 million.
During follow-up operations, police led by Supt. Paul Tucay, deputy provincial director of Palawan, arrested Col-ing in Puerto Princesa City. Col-ings arrest led to the identity of the three other suspects, who had then boarded a Manila-bound passenger vessel.
Tucay and his men caught the other suspects before they could go out of pier premises..
Lapinid lauded Palawan police director Senior Supt. Michael Garraez, Tucay and the chief of police of Brookes Point, Palawan, including the teams from the NCRPO, Maritime Group, PPA for a job well-done.
In another development, the MIMAROPA regional police based here turned over two brand new patrol cars to the Bongabong Municipal Police Station, Mindoro Oriental and Looc Municipal Police station, Romblon.
