Police chief axed

DASMARIÑAS, Cavite — This town’s police chief has been relieved from his post for failing to recapture four of 10 inmates who bolted the municipal jail last month.

Senior Superintendent Roberto Rosales, Cavite police director, said Superintendent Rodolfo Soriano had been given enough time to re-arrest the four remaining escapees.

Superintendent Rhodel Sermonia, multi-awarded intelligence and investigation chief of the Cavite police, replaced Soriano. — Rene Alviar
