Robbers caught in karaoke bar

GAPAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — These robbers apparently could not wait to have a good time after divesting passengers of a Cabanatuan City-bound Five Star bus of cash and valuables Monday night.

Police caught up with suspects Elgie Caparas, 23; Edwin Reyes, 24; and Samuel Causapin, 24, splurging their loot on beer and girls at the John Lee karaoke bar in Barangay Sto. Niño here. A fourth suspect, a certain Romy Angcang, managed to flee.

The robbers boarded the bus in Cubao, Quezon City and announced the heist upon reaching Barangay San Roque in San Rafael, Bulacan. They alighted in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. — Ding Cervantes
