DOTC exec hurt in Cotabato City attack

COTABATO CITY — Unfazed by the heavy presence of soldiers and policemen, armed men seriously wounded a local official of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) in a busy area here the other day.

The victim, Joel Sinadan, 38, manager of the DOTC’s city telephone project here, was on his way home on board his vehicle when the gunmen blocked his path along Datu Liwa Candao street and fired at him.

Sinadan’s companion, Richard Dy, also sustained gunshot wounds. Both of them are now confined at a local hospital, guarded by lawmen.

Sources from the local DOTC office said Sinadan has long been receiving death threats. John Unson
