32 key PNP posts affected in Comelec-okayed revamp

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved a major reshuffle in the Philippine National Police (PNP), affecting 32 key positions from the directorial staff and national support units to the regional, district and provincial commands.

The affected police officials and their new positions, which they assumed yesterday, are the following:

Regional directors — Chief Superintendents Dominador Resos Jr., Cagayan Valley; Robert Delfin, Bicol; Rolando Garcia, Western Visayas; Simeon Dizon, Western Mindanao; Virtus Gil, Cordillera; and Rodolfo Caisip, Caraga; Senior Superintendents Arturo Lomibao, Ilocos-Pangasinan; Nardito Yoro, Eastern Visayas; Eduardo Matillano, Southern Mindanao; Acmad Omar, ARMM;

Chief Superintendents Romulo Sales, deputy regional director for administration, National Capital Region Police Office; George Aliño, Eastern Police District director; Victor Luga, deputy director for plans; Crescencio Maralit, deputy director for police-community relations; Jose Marlowe Pedregosa, PNP Crime Laboratory director; Rowland Albano, NCRPO deputy regional director for operations;

Senior Superintendents Vidal Querol, Northern Police District director; Rodolfo Tor, Central Police District director; Jose Gutierrez, Southern Police District director; Rogelio Magsino, deputy director for personnel and records management; Alberto Olario, deputy director for investigation and detective management; Alfredo de Vera Jr., acting director, Police-Community Relations Group; Doroteo Reyes II, acting Legal Service director; Medardo Apacible, deputy regional director for Southern Tagalog;

Provincial directors — Superintendents Alberto Mercado, officer-in-charge, Quezon; Rolan—do Lorenzo, Batangas; Leocadio Santiago Jr., Camarines Sur; Jaime Calungsod Jr., Zambales; Jimmy Rivera, Aklan; Pedro Talosig Jr., Surigao del Norte; Aaron Fidel, Bulacan; and Charles Calima, Catanduanes.

Among those relieved and placed on "floating status" were those accused of openly campaigning for opposition senatorial bet Panfilo Lacson, former PNP chief.

Mendoza is optimistic that the major reshuffle will enhance the PNP campaign against criminality and for a peaceful May 14 elections.
